Craig Panarisi
Coach, PSIA Nordic Team
  • Training and program manager for all Instructional Activities - Jackson Hole, WY
  • PSIA-Intermountain clinician/examiner
  • Contributor and technical reviewer for The Professional Skier magazine

Panarisi乫s big love is telemark skiing. He began his career in 1983 at Purgatory Ski Resort in Colorado, teaching telemark lessons and driving snowcats. In 1990 he continued telemark skiing as a full-time ski touring guide and staff trainer at the Ski Schools of Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado. The next season, Panarisi moved to Utah to work as a staff trainer, guide, and snowsports instructor at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort. Following his six seasons at Snowbird, he became assistant ski school director at nearby Solitude for eight years. Panarisi then moved to Jackson Hole to become a training and program manager. Highlights of a tenure with PSIA乫s Nordic Team that began in 1988 include representing PSIA at Interski events in Austria, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia and Korea as well as a United States Disabled Ski Team blind skier guide. He also facilitated three one-month ski training courses for the U.S. military乫s winter warfare operations. In the summer, Panarisi is an avid paraglider pilot and enjoys fly fishing.

Skiing and PSIA is a family affair for Ross Matlock. Wife Jill Sickels Matlock was a National Alpine team member from 2000-2004 and they乫re raising a couple of little rippers of their own. Ross is convinced that kids can and should learn to telemark at an early age, and has launched a children乫s telemark program at Crested Butte Ski School. He has also helped organize several telemark festivals, including the US Telemark Slopestyle Championships and Tele X festivals in Crested Butte, the Telemark Free Ski Championships, Mountain Adventure Seminars and Grand Targee Telephoria.  Ross has been a ski school director, clinic leader, telemark instructor and backcountry ski guide in his native Australia. His globe trotting adventures are numerous, ranging from skiing the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt, to ski mountaineering in Valdez and 1st descents in the Ruth Glacier area of Alaska.
